Mrs. Ruth Erwin White, 91, of Clermont passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, December 29, 2022 following an extended illness. Mrs. White was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who faithfully and generously served her family, friends, church, and community.
A native of Clarksville, Mrs. White married her husband, Leon White, in 1950 and together they built a life of love and service in the Norcross and Clermont communities. She was a talented artist, a gracious homemaker, and dedicated member of Wahoo Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Grace Erwin; sister, Ann Erwin Altice; brothers, Bill, Wallace, and Marvin Erwin, and son, Wallace White. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Leon White, of Clermont; daughter Margie (Russell) Nash of Clermont, son Wendell White of Clermont, and son Wayne White (Michael Castellana) of Gainesville; grandchildren Brad (Kim) Nash, Brannan (Chris) Greene, Devin (Crista) White, Riley White, Seth White, and Morgan White, all of Gainesville; Roger (Jessyca) Nash of Flowery Branch; and Amy (Paul) Braker of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; sister, Jolene Erwin, of Clermont, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 4:00pm to 6:00pm Friday, December 30 at Strickland Funeral Home, Clermont. Saturday visitation will be held at 1:00pm December 31 at Wahoo Baptist Church followed by funeral and graveside service beginning at 2:00pm. Reverend Mark Stroud will officiate. W. R.
