Earl Dean Edwards

Mr. Earl Dean Edwards, 82, of Murrayville died February 16, 2014, at his residence. He was a life-long residence of Hall County, except for his military service during the Korean War. Mr. Edwards is the son of William Arthur Edwards and Martha Elmer Hoppers Edwards. For a period of time after the war, he was employed by Georgia Chair Co. He was then employed by the Army Corp of Engineers, a job from which he retired. Mr. Earl Edwards was a member of Chattahoochee United Methodist Church in Robertstown, Georgia. Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Cronic Edwards, and two sons, Ronnie Edwards of Murrayville and Russell Edwards and daughter-in-law Jan Wilmoth Edwards and their children, Jonathon and Hannah Edwards. He is also survived by a sister, Geneva Turpin Pittman of Gainesville; two brothers-in-law, David Cronic of Canon, Georgia, and Philip Cronic of Talmo, Georgia, and sisters-in-law, Hazel Barr of Talmo, Georgia, and Annie Sims Edwards of Murrayville, Georgia. Mr. Edwards is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, William Henry, Robert Claude, Grover Lee, Clarence Hubert, Dennis Riley, Ernest Fate, and Benjamin Fred (Bud) Edwards; and two sisters, Lillie Jane Edwards Saine, and Bessie Mae Edwards. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Strickland's Funeral Home of Clermont, Georgia, at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 19, 2014. Russell Edwards will deliver the eulogy. Reverend John Reeser of United Hospice will officiate service. Interment will follow in Wahoo Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday, February 18, 2014.
